This guy was commenting on the fabulous look of the kid across the aisle, who turned out to be this couple's son. I don't think the father agreed. That might have been why the kid was sitting on the other side of the train. He was sporting a long ponytail, goatee, wrap around shades and leather wrist bands. He was probably 19. Welcome to NYC.

I agree with Lydia the pink really is an intersting contrast to the mostly black, white, and grey colors that the rest of the passengers are wearing. I really like the framing in this shot with the railing as well.
Great scene! If I hadn't read your description, I'd think... The girl is holding on to her boyfriend/husband in fear, and the boyfriend is just like, "Is this guy going to shhut up anytime soon?"
