4th Ave. Brooklyn ~ 9:25am

  1. Classically atmospheric ...darkness, lights, refections and of course the rain. I love the way I am drawn towards the vanishing point.

  2. why is the platform so soaked?

  3. I'm always checking your new shots Travis ; now time for the critic ! :)
the 3 chars are interesting but I wish you angled the scene horizontally.
    What do you think ?

  4. The floor is probably so soaked because it was hosed down, though I remember some stations where the water from the street above flowed freely on the platforms through cracks and leaks.

I am inclined to think the former. If you knew all the substances that hit that platform in a given day, you will be glad it gets hosed off from time to time.

Anybody from the Transit Authority who can speak with true authority on this.

All beside the point that this is yet another spectacular shot.

  5. You have this feeling of emptyness and lonelyness, wasted time, bad moments
and actually your just waiting for the text train which brings you to the outside - and you are waiting, waiting for something which helps you to go on and go on and go on.

  6. Did you see the Henry Wessel photo featured on NYT website yesterday? This photo reminds me a lot of that one. Both reveal the issues we seem to have with personal space. And also, I guess, how few of the limitless ways to 'wait' we end up utilizing. Reading. Staring.

  7. the mood in the picture kept me with it. but somehow it seems a bit too ... mmmhh...let me say ... aseptic. like the people had been arranged.
    greets thomas
