  1. This, for some reason, makes me think of a sci-fi film.

  2. Travis - Where did you take this shot from? Were you hanging on the front of an incoming train or hanging off the opposite platform as you appear to be taking this from the center of the track? - Eric

  3. Nice comment Eric ;-)

A beautiful photo.. the red interspersed wth the pillars makes the station also look like a train.. Very nice!

  4. These colors down here are great!! Much better than the way things must have looked decades ago. Fantastic capture! Eric's question does have me curious now as well.

  5. love the perspective and the colors! great one.

  6. Travis would've taken this from the edge of the downtown platform. See http://www.nycsubway.org/perl/stations?5:714 for a description of the station and its history. It's looked like this for 28 years.

  7. Wow Sam, great info there. And yes as you point out this was taken from the very unusual island platform.

  8. Wonderful as always. Love the red.

  9. I love the lines, the color, the composition. Mundane and abstract. But what I really like is the sense of play regarding what is stationary and what is moving, what is train, and what isn't. Express train relativity.

  10. Excellent framing with nice perspective !

  11. I always hated this orange someone way back when decided was a great color for the subway. It's on the walls at 49th Street, too. Yuck! BUT, it works really well in this shot. Congrats on transforming something yucky into something pretty cool.
