7 Train ~ Shea Stadium

I made it out to the tennis matches at the US Open Thursday night. And so here is where the 7 trains come to rest at night (same yard just 4 hours later). What an incredible ride it is on the 7 train. I used to live in Queens and take the 7 train daily. It is an entirely different experience than anything in the other boroughs. You just feel like you're in an old movie.

UPDATE: I'm part of this Google Map project for the month of September. Check out this link to see exactly where these images were made. Click on the zoom bar on the left to go in very close. It's very cool!

  1. Willets Point/Shae stadium right...!? Classic spot..!

i like the contrast on these two...! one 7 train(R 62(a)) sitting lonely in the middle and the other one is like an Endless Sea os 7 trains....

    keep them cominG...!

  2. Hazzah ... ! Let's Go Mets!

The bottom one kinda reminds me that it could be in a Cingular commercial ... like an upside down 'Raising the Bar.'

    *going back to sleep ....*

  3. great pair of pictures.

  4. Lovely work as always.

  8. Ahhhh yes, raising the bar - again!

Excellent. I always love the cool, liquid mercury effect of light on brushed steel. And you know I'm a sucker for converging lines of perspective.

  9. oooo I like. I like very much. Something different.

  10. ok wtf these are amazing.

  11. I love both pictures as much. The second one is very impressive in the alignement of the trains ! The lights & exposure are also excellent !

  14. I agree with farmer's wife. The warm light reflecting off the trains really appeals to me.

  18. i like the top shot, but i love the bottom one. the rows of trains with the lighting that gives them a sort of copper color. very well done.

  19. I love especially the bottom image. I love how thw light defines the shapes of the trains and the composition is perfect.
