A Train ~ High St. ~ 6:50pm

I can't thank everyone enough who took the time to vote for my site. I've been nominated for "Best American" and "Best Street Photography" Blog. It's very exciting and quite an honor. Thank you very much, there are so many incredible sites out there.

Stuck on an A train that was having some lighting problems. It's always weird to ride on a one light train. It's a bit like a creepy movie.

  1. If you win, we definitely have to throw a party for you. We could rent a whole subway car from the MTA and boogie from Woodhaven up in the Bronx all the way down to Far Rockaway, Queens. Seriously.

This scene reminds me of the light which always shine on the angel in 'Touched By An Angel'. But it's so cool! I love the lighting. And it's amazing how clear and bright the scene is, while feeling warm. New Yorkers are avid readers. It's evident.

25 Days until I'm on a flight for summer vacation in NY!!! I may just ride the subway all day in the hopes that you'd capture a picture of me.

    We'll see.

  4. Love this shot, the contrasts of the white light and reading material and the dark surroundings. Well done on the photobloggie nominations, well deserved for the street category.

  5. Great shot. The light is working perfectly here. The contrast between dark and light areas is excellent.

  6. Derval - you're on the party committee!

  7. Just took a second look at the Photobloggies nomination list and saw that I was also nominated for "photo of the year". And a surprising selection it is.
