4 Train ~ midtown ~ 6:45pm

  1. I'm diggin this picture. The couple look a little frozen in their spot. It's like they are saying in their mind, "Look straight don't make no eye contact with anyone". The guy looking at you from the door is funny. He looks ready to kick your butt. Another great picture of rush hour on the greatest subway system in the world.

  2. Is this a pseudo-intimate moment? I like it. The guy with the paper has found something better than the New York Times, apparently. It's interesting the different worlds we enter as a result of the shared intimacy with strangers on the subway. Great capture though Travis.

  3. All you out-o-towners must understand, we're all really friends. I'm pretty mad I missed the blackout because all my friends said it was the citywide party of the century.

  4. Aargh, too close for me. The people are all really extremely uncomfortable. You can feel it. Horrible!!!!!!!!!!

  5. I see the guy on the left thinking, "get your greasy, unwashed hair off of my newspaper 'fore I whack you with it."

  6. I think the guy with the newspaper is frustrated because he can't read with all this closeness. And the guy in the background is just observing it all.

I've been looking at all your subway photos, and they are all so good. How do you manage to take them without being noticed or getting slugged?
