N Train ~ Canal St. ~ 6:15pm

I am reminded of statues. I hope this image inspires someone to make a life size bronze of this scene, train and everything. Or maybe paint the scene on a grain of rice.

Express Train news:
Closing in on the one-year anniversary of this little project this Friday. To celebrate the occasion I think a drink is in order. And what better place than the Subway Inn? Not many bars like this left in this town. If you've been looking for an excuse to stop in at the Inn, here it is. I'm going to shoot to get there at 9pm this Friday night. And yeah there is a subway stop 5 feet from the front door. Hope to see you there.

  1. I think this picture is a picture of a subway bus stop. It looks like some real music to my ears. Icarius and Daedelus here you are above ground? is there no work for you today, no twisting turning passages to be completed.Sir. Icarius and Daelus is a story of a yummy cat !

  2. Faces bathed in just the right light. I do love the juxtaposition between the decaying wall and the fabulous mosaic (worthy of Pompeii). That is a statement in itself...and a question. Has me wondering if there ever was a "golden age" of the New York Subway, when everything was spotless and decorative touches were new.

Also has me wondering about the general maintenance schedule underground and whether there are people in charge of removing all the gum covering the floor on one of your photos, or someone repairing wall tile and plaster destroyed by leaking pipes.

  3. Congratulations for your webpage
    Such a nice work

  4. Indeed...train is a great piece of our lives! I like your series and the idea of taking lives on and around trains. Wonderful and precious work!!
