Broadway/Lafayette station ~ F platform ~ 6:45pm

This guy is always at the same seat on this platform. Pretty much in the same pose. It's almost like they move him in at 5:30 and pick him up at 7.

  1. Heh its funny how he's leaning back and the other guy is leaning forward. Nice capture.

  2. Nice capture. The man on the right's accessories are an ipod and a pda, the man on the left has a makeshift bag under him.

Also, it's like they should exchange shoes. The dude on the right has workboots but the guy on the left has sandals.

  3. For at least the past 3 years, this guy is always there except on weekends. He used to just stand by the staircase reading a newspaper...now he's into just sitting there. He also wears the same thing everyday and yet he doesn't smell funny. I've decided that he must be an undercover cop.

  4. Hey, I see it. You kind of specialize on sleeping people. But that's great, anyway. Go on taking such nice photos.

  5. a gr8 capture of relief at the train station!

  6. I love to see the colorful characters that occupy the subway. Maybe it's because I'm from the country, but the bag under the bench looks like a sack of potatoes!

  7. In following your subway "journal," one might start to think NYC just wears folks out - always sleeping. Or maybe this is the only spot we can really get away from everything - no cell phones, no demands - and get a catnap.
One of my favorite things to do (and it's a tall order these days with the cops being so vigilant) is to sit on the steps in Grand Central and watch everyone. Amidst the noice and activity, it can seem amazingly quite and peaceful.

  8. Pity you couldn't get them to each lean the other way, it would make an incredible pair of pictures.
