N Train ~ Manhattan Bridge ~ 9:50am

hot, hot, hot, hot! It's been soo hot these last few days. Luckily the real summer subway stench has yet to really get brewing. Oh things to look forward too.

Express Train NEWS!

The Apple Store in SoHo will feature the fourth New York City Photobloggers event on Friday, June 17th at 7pm. I will be one of the presenters for this event. I'll be talking about why I started this project and what the experience has meant to me. And other such ramblings.

  1. It's so rare to see the light of day in your pictures... I really enjoy this one.

  2. Gazing from the dark inner world out into the light. I can only imagine how the stench will grow! Good luck! :-)

  3. Gorgeous picture. I love the cross section of so many different New York realities: the bseball-capped student (?), the graffiti-ist, Wall Street, the mystey woman, Coney Island and everthing that name represents...

  4. GOOD STUF.. I'M A PHOTOGRAPHER MY SELF.. I TAKE THE F TRAIN HOME..COOL SHOTS. YOU CAN ALWAYS GET A GOOD SHOT IN NYC NO MATTER WHERE YOU GO.

  5. Unfortunately most of us cannot be in NYC for your presentation. But we are nonetheless interested in how you got started and what it means to you. Perhaps you could do a "rambling" blog one day, in addition to your photo. I am sometimes more interested in the why and how, as I am in the image. Alot of times the image creates more questions than it answers, and I love images with accompanying text.

  6. When I started this site it was my intention to just post images and no text. Dave Nightindale, my site designer, has taken great joy in making fun of how far I've come from that notion. It was his idea to start adding my voice to the images. The problem I have is that of time. When I don't post any text you can be assured it's because I am flat out of time. My first priority is the image. But now I've become just as interested in trying to write my thoughts as well. I'm glad to hear that my writing is adding to the experience. Thanks for the encouragement, I'll keep at the keyboard whenever possible.

  7. That is a very big problem....time and energy....commitments and just plain daily life. Thanks so much for sharing your talent. As I told David over at Chromasia, there are those sites and people whose work challenges you to learn more, learn something different, try something new. It's all good.

  8. Oooh, didn't the N just start going back to Coney Island recently?

  9. it's been goin there for a while, djQFl. ;-)
    btw, travis, nice shot.
