4 Train ~ btwn 14th & 42nd st ~ 9:30am

I'm off in the sunny, subwayless state of Arizona for a few days. The next postings through the weekend will be from previous weeks. I will not be able to reply to any emails.

  1. Those look like footprints on the door, at knee level. Would this have been done by a passenger, or a yard worker? Notice the reflection of the person in the glass at the top. They appear to be watching the photographer. Interesting.....

  2. The reflection is actually someone scratching their head and looking away. Either they don't want to be on camera or are oblivious to the photographer. =)

Travis, you have certainly captured how we sometimes feel 9:30 in the morning on the way to work or school! Catching a few extra Zzzz's while standing. Nice.

  3. Nice portrait.

Travis, its amazing how you churn out pic after pic, all of them so wonderful, from the limited space of trains and stations.

  4. wanted to drop in and tell you that your photography is amazing!
I find myself coming by just to take a peak at a different world. Your project is great!

  5. Don't know how you do it! Love it.

  6. hmmm, androgynous.

  7. I'm always very concerned about intruding into someones personal space. Especially when they are sleeping or reading a prayer book. I actually took another image of this lady before she was resting in the corner. I picked up the camera and as I composed she looked at me. The image was not that good but when I put the camera down she gave me this big smile. Sort of a "ain't this nuts" kind of smile. Later on the trip she went into nap mode.
